  8.          mas.doc           Online help for your BBS users on MAS.
  9.          mas.dat           TechnoBBS menu code to run MAS online.
  10.          mas.c & sub.asm   Fully featured source code for the program.
  11.          install           A little program to install MAS for you.

  13. Message Area Scanner, known from now on as MAS, is a utility for the
  14. TechnoBBS software, that scans your message areas. It can be run either from
  15. shell, or online using the menu code segment provided. Instructions for both
  16. methods follow. Using MAS you will see the amount of messages in each area,
  17. and when run online, also the amount of new messages in each area. You can
  18. also scan all SIGs (message area groups), and get a summary of them. Read
  19. all about it in mas.guide and mas.doc using MultiView and/or PPMore, or
  20. equivalent. The source code is provided, so that you may examine it, and
  21. perhaps learn a thing or two about programming a TechnoBBS utility, or about
  22. programming in general. You may recompile the sources (PhxAss and DICE were
  23. used), and even make changes to them, but you must not redistribute them
  24. anylonger. Only spread the original archive. The code was written by me,
  25. Sami Klemola, using some ready-made TechnoBBS ARexx code by Ville-Pertti
  26. Keinonen in addition. Type "install" to your shell prompt for installation.
